Nice, this is a through hole, but will it tap a blind hole without bottoming out and causing the machine to emergency stop itself? For example if I pre-drill a 6mm deep hole in stock that is 8mm thick, then tell it to tap threads 5 mm long that would give me 1mm of space before it bottoms out, that seems safe. Basically is it smart enough to detect the bottom of the hole and reverse itself?

Looking to use the tool for making clock faces on the lathe. How did you determine the height of the pin to engage the hole in the chuck?

How do you change this to tapping mode. I can only get it to reverse for 1-2 seconds.

if you add cutting fluid, it'll greatly increase your results and not destroy the tooling.

Leaving the drill bit in the hole like that while running (especially since you’re not clearing chips) is a good way to overheat the drill bit not to mention burning the wood. You can clear the chips and it will retain the settings.

Ever tried to contact nova? Forget it. This is the most ridiculous and complicated procedure for a simple upgrade.

Great video. I just received my Titan III yesterday. Have you turned many bowls using a tennon as opposed to a mortise? I was surprised to read that using a mortise allows for making a much larger bowl according to the directions that came with the chuck.

This will work if you use Gorilla tape to hold the bowl in place, otherwise the bowl is likely to fly out. It's a good idea for a product but a terrible design.

I don't think the conduit example proves you don't need to center punch. The bit still visibly walks on the conduit. So if you don't really care about where the hole goes on the round stock, the feature is probably useful. But if it must be located with some precision, you still need a good center punch. (I use a Starrett 18c that is one of my favorite tools).
